Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has urged the Punjab government not to create hurdles for PTI workers ahead of the party’s planned September 27 mobilisation towards Islamabad, saying the movement will remain peaceful and focused on what the party describes as a demand for justice.

Speaking about preparations for the protest, Barrister Gohar specifically appealed to the Punjab government and Rana Sanaullah to avoid actions that could increase political tensions. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi would lead the movement in accordance with the Constitution and law.

PTI Says September 27 March Will Be Peaceful

PTI has been mobilising supporters for its September 27 protest, which party leaders have described as an “Insaf March”. Barrister Gohar has repeatedly maintained that the party does not seek confrontation and wants its supporters to exercise their right to peaceful political protest.

The PTI chairman said party workers would head towards Islamabad peacefully and argued that political differences should be addressed through democratic and constitutional means rather than confrontation.

“We are coming to Islamabad to seek justice,” Gohar said, while stressing that violence must be avoided during the mobilisation.

He also called for an end to the use of force against political protesters, saying there should be no firing and that the country needed to move away from politics that could lead to further confrontation.

Gohar Calls for Political Reconciliation

A central part of Barrister Gohar’s latest message was his appeal for reconciliation between the government and opposition.

He argued that Pakistan’s continuing political tensions could not be reduced through arrests, restrictions or tougher administrative measures. Instead, he called for dialogue and steps that could create space for political engagement.

According to the PTI chairman, differences of opinion are a normal part of democracy and should not become a reason for political confrontation.

His remarks come as the September 27 protest increasingly becomes a major political focus, with PTI seeking to mobilise supporters around demands linked to the rule of law, constitutional rights and the release of party founder Imran Khan.

Sohail Afridi to Lead Islamabad-Bound Movement

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is expected to play a prominent role in the mobilisation and has been named by PTI leadership as the leader of the Islamabad-bound movement.

In recent days, Afridi has also been involved in political outreach aimed at building support for the September 27 protest.

Barrister Gohar urged authorities not to obstruct the chief minister or PTI supporters travelling for the demonstration, while reiterating that the party intends to keep the movement peaceful.

PTI has also said that state resources would not be used for the march and has invited opposition parties and other groups to support what it describes as a peaceful campaign for constitutional and democratic rights.

September 27 Protest Draws Political and Legal Attention

The proposed protest has already attracted attention beyond party politics.

A petition concerning the September 27 mobilisation has been taken up by the Islamabad High Court, where questions have been raised over public order, traffic disruption, the role of provincial officials and the rights of citizens during political demonstrations.

With less than two weeks remaining before September 27, both PTI’s mobilisation strategy and the government’s response are likely to remain at the centre of Pakistan’s political debate.

Barrister Gohar’s latest statement, however, places the emphasis on avoiding confrontation. His message to the government is that political tensions should be managed through reconciliation and dialogue, while PTI maintains that its Islamabad movement will remain peaceful.
