DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A deadly explosion occurred during a wedding ceremony near Qureshi Mor in Dera Ismail Khan, killing at least five people and injuring many others.
According to police, the blast happened at a marriage event held at the house of Noor Masood. Several guests were present at the time of the explosion. Five people died on the spot, while many others suffered serious injuries.
Police, rescue teams, and emergency services quickly arrived at the scene. The injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Dera Ismail Khan and Mufti Mahmood Hospital. An emergency has been declared in both hospitals to ensure immediate medical care.
Bomb disposal squads also reached the area and carried out a search operation. Initial evidence suggests the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber, but authorities say investigations are still ongoing.
Security has been increased in and around the area, and officials are trying to find out who was behind the attack. The incident has spread fear and sorrow in the local community.
