Pakistan has reduced the notified ex-depot price of petrol by Re0.84 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2.63, with the revised rates taking effect on September 25.
Under the latest adjustment, motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, is priced at Rs389.28 per litre, down from Rs390.12. High-speed diesel is priced at Rs412.12 per litre, down from Rs414.75.
Petroleum Division cites market factors
The Petroleum Division said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised the rates in response to changes in international market inputs, including Platts assessments, premiums and incidentals. The federal ministry lists petroleum-product prices among its September 25 updates.
The change comes under Pakistan's daily fuel-price review mechanism. Petrol is widely used in private transport, while high-speed diesel is a key fuel for freight, public transport and agriculture, making the new rates relevant to household and business costs.
Consumers should check the displayed rate at their local outlet, as the notification sets ex-depot prices and the next review may alter the applicable price. Follow the latest Pak Pulse 247 news coverage for verified Pakistan business updates.
