Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces joined his Saudi and Turkish counterparts in Riyadh for a meeting under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, according to reports published on September 26.
Geo News reported that Pakistan's CDF, the Turkish chief of general staff and Saudi Arabia's chief of general staff attended the meeting. GNN reported that participants reviewed the security situation and discussed closer coordination among the three countries' armed forces.
What the meeting covered
The reports said the chiefs discussed intelligence sharing, military coordination and capability integration. They also referred to the security of Saudi Arabia and to attacks on civilian and economic infrastructure in the kingdom.
The meeting followed talks a day earlier among the three countries' foreign ministers. Pakistan's Foreign Office said on September 25 that the ministers had discussed convening an urgent meeting of the chiefs of staff and reviewed progress on structures under the defence agreement.
Official details remain limited
Public reporting did not set out any announcement of troop deployments or a new operational commitment. The meeting's stated focus was coordination and implementation of existing defence commitments, and any further steps would require official confirmation from the participating governments.
