Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that people will have to step into the field of action themselves if they want to change the destiny of the nation.
Speaking amid MQM-P’s renewed political activity, Siddiqui stressed the need for greater public participation in the political and democratic process and called for powers to be transferred closer to the grassroots level.
He said the benefits of democracy should reach ordinary citizens at their doorstep, arguing that local communities must have greater involvement in decisions directly affecting their daily lives.
The MQM-P chairman also urged citizens to play an active role in shaping the country’s future rather than remaining disconnected from the political process.
His remarks come as MQM-P continues to highlight administrative reforms, stronger local government structures and the devolution of powers as key parts of its political agenda.
The party has also been raising the issue of new administrative units, arguing that Pakistan’s growing population and changing governance requirements require a broader national discussion on the country’s administrative structure.
The debate over administrative reforms and the distribution of powers remains politically sensitive, with different parties holding varying positions on how governance structures should be changed.
Siddiqui maintained that meaningful political participation and stronger grassroots governance are necessary to address public problems and improve the delivery of basic services.
