The Punjab government has launched enhanced relief measures under the Ramzan Negahban Package to provide meaningful support to deserving families during the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of this initiative, a Ramzan Negahban Dashboard has been established to ensure transparency and effective monitoring. Through this system, counter-checking calls are being made directly to cardholders to verify assistance delivery and address complaints in real time.
In addition, the Negahban Dastarkhwan programme, titled “Maryam Ke Mehman,” will operate across all tehsils of Punjab. Under this initiative, daily Iftar meals will be provided to 2,000 people in each tehsil, with eight Negahban Dastarkhwans set up per tehsil to facilitate organized distribution.
To further ease financial pressure on low-income households, the government has increased cash assistance for ration card holders. During Ramadan, beneficiaries will now receive Rs. 10,000 instead of the previously allocated Rs. 3,000, aiming to ensure wider coverage and genuine relief for needy families.
Officials state that these measures are designed to improve service delivery, enhance accountability, and provide dignified support to citizens during Ramadan. The programme reflects the government’s broader focus on social welfare and targeted assistance during times of increased household expenses.
