RAWALPINDI — Security forces have neutralized nine terrorists, including two high-profile ringleaders, during a targeted intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed in an official statement.

Targeted Intelligence-Based Operation

According to the military's media wing, security forces initiated the tactical operation following credible intelligence reports confirming the presence and movement of active militants belonging to the banned Fitna al-Khwarij group in the mountainous terrain of Bajaur.

During the intense exchange of fire, troops effectively engaged the militant hideout, killing nine terrorists on the spot. Official statements identified two of the neutralized militants as key operational commanders actively involved in orchestrating multiple terrorist activities against law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians across the tribal belt.

Weapons and Explosives Cache Recovered

Security personnel carried out a detailed search of the hideout, recovering a substantial cache of automatic firearms, anti-personnel mines, hand grenades, communication equipment, and a significant quantity of improvised explosive device (IED) precursors.

Sanitization and clearance operations are ongoing throughout adjacent ridge lines to eliminate any remaining hostile elements in the vicinity.

National Resolve Against Terrorism

The military reaffirmed that Pakistan's armed forces, alongside provincial police and civilian law enforcement bodies, remain steadfast in their determination to completely eradicate terrorism from the country. Local community elders in Bajaur voiced unanimous support for the armed forces, welcoming the decisive operation to secure peace and stability across the frontier region.
